Discover the Ultimate Escape with a Long Term Yacht Charter

A long term yacht charter offers something no villa, resort, or short holiday ever can: complete freedom to live on your own terms. Whether you dream of spending a month cruising the Mediterranean, an entire season exploring the Caribbean, or a year discovering the world’s most remote anchorages, a long term charter transforms the yacht into your private floating residence.

Designed for travellers who value privacy, flexibility, and immersive experiences, long term yacht charters are ideal for digital nomads, entrepreneurs, families, and anyone seeking a luxurious lifestyle at sea.

Why Choose a Long Term Yacht Charter?

1. Total Freedom & Flexibility
Set your own pace. Stay longer in the places you love. Change course whenever you wish. A long term charter gives you the freedom to explore coastlines, islands, and cultures without the constraints of fixed itineraries.

2. Your Private Floating Home
Enjoy all the comforts of a luxury villa—spacious cabins, private chef, onboard gym, cinema, water toys—combined with the ability to wake up somewhere new every day.

3. Dedicated Crew for Seamless Living
Your professional crew handles everything: navigation, housekeeping, provisioning, dining, and concierge services. Over time, they learn your preferences, creating a personalised onboard lifestyle.

4. Perfect for Remote Work & Extended Travel
With high speed connectivity, office ready spaces, and complete privacy, long term charters are ideal for remote professionals who want to work from paradise.

5. Exceptional Value for Extended Stays
Longer charters often come with preferential rates, reduced repositioning fees, and tailored packages—making extended yachting more accessible than many expect.

Popular Long Term Charter Destinations

Mediterranean (May–October)
Cruise the French Riviera, Amalfi Coast, Croatia, Greece, and the Balearics at your own pace. Perfect for summer living.

Caribbean & Bahamas (November–April)
Warm waters, secluded bays, and year round sunshine make the Caribbean ideal for winter escapes.

Indian Ocean & Remote Expeditions
For those seeking something extraordinary: Seychelles, Maldives, Indonesia, and beyond.

Who Is a Long Term Yacht Charter For?

Long term charters are ideal for:

  • Entrepreneurs and digital nomads who may want to work away from their home or office - Many of our clients spend extensive time on board of a yacht and not always sailing, but at times just working on the yacht for a few months
  • Those who want to enjoy sailing lifestyle while travelling; especially those that may need crew assistance – We have arranged luxury and superyacht charters, including tandem charters that have lasted several weeks for such groups.
  • Families seeking a private, safe travel environment – We had a number of families who have sailed longer term in that way, including a British family sailing 8 months on a luxury 54ft catamaran in 2025/26 which also included transatlantic crossing yacht charter.
  • Families keen to experience sailing life – a Family is due to sail on a 55ft sailing catamaran for 5 months with our long-term charter arrangements that way.
  • Individuals or families who wish to test before they buy – A family sailed over the course of 12 months across all of the Atlantic, Caribbean, through Panama canal and across South Pacific to Australia with 2 daughters
  • Couples wanting a once in a lifetime adventure – One couple sailed 8 months in Greece on a 40ft monohull with us
  • Retirees exploring the world in comfort – we had a couple sailing on a 45ft catamaran ONE WAY from Turkey to France – A couple sailed a few years ago with us on such an arrangement over the course of 5 months
  • Creatives seeking inspiration – especially where a yoga teacher, breathwork facilitators or neuro-science guru want to keep a retreat on board of a yacht, rather than on shore – We have regularly held such sessions on Upwind50 sailing catamaran in Croatia
  • Anyone craving a lifestyle of freedom, luxury, and discovery

How Long Is a “Long Term” Charter?

Most long term charters range from:

  • 4 weeks - 3 months
  • Genuine long-term charters are really somewhere in between 3–6 months
  • 6-12 months or Full season (summer or winter) that may include transatlantic crossings. This includes East to West in the autumn (November and December) and West to East in Sprin (April and May each year)
  • 12-18 month global charter (a family has chartered 2x 60ft catamarans to sail all of Indian Ocean, South East Asia and South Pacific that way with a budget of around 1 million Euros)

Your itinerary, crew, and onboard services are tailored to the duration of your stay.
